Personality:
Elzam was raised to be a leader of people and a defender of the Earth. This is important to consider because in learning this he developed the thought of excellence in all things important one does, and this can only be done with a calm mind. It was due to this he was able to save his home colony at the expense of his wife and keep fighting, as well as to defy Earth’s government in order to cause its coming together in such a way that it would survive and still be independent. It also forged his combat style, fearless and to an untrained eye seemingly reckless, but to anyone with any skill every move is well thought out and calculated, even if done quickly, with as little wasted energy as possible. In the kitchen he views his cooking as a weapon against poor morale, and frequently cooked with whatever was available to boost the spirits of the front line troops, to keep the whole war machine moving.

A common theme with Elzam is the setting sun, and this is reflected in his personality as well. While he loves the Earth and will do anything to defend it, he knows he is a tool of old wars, and as such will guide younger people to find their potential, but fears being over relied upon in order to solve problems. Part of evolution is the younger generation learns to stand on its own and he’s happy to help there, and when things get so bad that he MUST come out of semi-retirement he’ll be on the front of the battle, but until that point he aids with morale and intelligence, preferring to ferret out the secrets that may cause the war to be lost instead of charging ahead. Most of the time though, he’s content to live out his life in the countryside, cooking and being relatively mundane, he’s come to understand that HIS wars are primarily over and now it’s just helping other people survive their wars.

In society, Elzam is a bit eccentric and while he will do anything to come to the aid of someone he respects, the world government has earned his scorn through their ignoring the warnings that brought forth the DC war and inability to handle the inspectors, so he tends to have a bit of contempt for the “powers that be.” This is the main reason for his “disguise” persona of Rätsel Feinschmecker, and the fact that not only is it German for “the mysterious gourmet” (note: Actually it translates to the Riddle Gourmet, but Rätsel is probably short for Rätselhafter and with that I go back to only speaking English and bad English), in the end its Elzam with a pair of goggles on using the exact same mecha, ships and even color scheme and names. The fact that he makes people call him that is more a commentary on how he views the government to be everywhere and the current government to be worthy of little more than contempt as it isn’t even capable of defending its own people without selling out.

Elzam can identify all the components of a type of food merely by tasting it. Also in situations where theme music is an issue, his always trumps whatever is playing.

This unit is a high speed, high offence, meh defense robot that is the long range support for one (later 2) heavy melee units. Not so much designed to get stuck in but to provide highly mobile fire support. However it is a super robot so it has decent staying power and is not as fast as robots in the real robot size class (Gundams being the most common Real Robots).
Kitchen Knives – Nice Kitchen knives that are TECHNICALLY physical/slashing weapons but no chef would ever use his knives for that unless it was a DRASTIC emergency. Includes a 9 ½’ carving knife, a 8’ French Chef’s Knife, a 6’ French Chef’s Knife, a 4’ Paring Knife, a 5 ½’ Santoku Knife, a 5 ½’ Nakiri Knife, a 9’ Bread Knife and a 3’ vegetable knife. All with wooden handles and hand forged (that’s a big deal in space) and a carrying case for all of them.
